At the start of 2018 WIS was awarded the contract to supply a new Optiedger to the MTO Sawmill in George.
This was a replacement of their old EWD Optimes Edger. The three 40ft containers arrived in August 2018 and the installation took place over the Christmas shutdown in December 2018.

The complete Optiedger Line consisted of:
- Double Bent Board Singulator
- Cross Cut Station with hydraulic waste flap
- Cross Scanning with 15 lasers top & bottom
- Indeed & Board aligning table
- Edger with 3 movable saw heads
- Out feed conveyers with spiral rollers & out feed separater blades
The Mohringer Optiedger was for a board length from between 2.4 – 2.8m.

The average board capacity is 20 boards per minute with a peak capacity of up to 25 boards per min based on an average length of 4m.
The commissioning was done in the first week of Jan 2019 and full production was reached in the middle of Jan 2019.
